Rheem Low Pressure Wetback cylinders can reduce your hot water heating costs by supplementing your hot water needs. Because wood is a renewable energy source, wetbacks can also reduce the environmental impacts of your hot water heating.
How they work
Wetbacks are a low pressure water heater designed with extra connections for supplementary heating. That means a pipe arrangement that fits in the back of a heat source (often a firebox). Water from your hot water cylinder is circulated through these pipes, sometimes by a small pump, and is heated using some of the heat from the fire. When connected to an appropriate burner, a wetback provides a boost to water heating during the coldest parts of the year. Rheem wetback water heaters are ideal for colder climates where space heating is used frequently.
Please note that Rheem New Zealand advise this Low Pressure Copper hot water cylinder model is NOT suitable for installation in the postcode areas of 4120 and 4122 in the Hastings district due to local water conditions.
